The Vietnamese Lunar New Year is a very important part of Pixelz history and tradition. It is something we are very proud to be part of each year.
The Vietnamese Lunar New Year or known locally as Tết, is the celebration of the arrival of spring in accordance with the Vietnamese lunar calendar. This is the most important holiday of the year for the people of Vietnam - think of it as a combination of Christmas and New Year. During Tết, people will often go home to their families and spend the week reflecting on the past year and looking forward to what the new year holds. On the first day of Tết, people will spend time with their immediate family, and on the subsequent days, they will visit their friends, extended family and teachers, who have an important status in Vietnamese culture.
Similar to Chinese New Year, each year is associated with an animal. 2019 is the year of the Pig! Accordingly to the astrology, this coming year will be a great year to invest and make money!
Of course, with any celebration like this, food plays a very important role, with people cooking many different types of special dishes like bánh chưng, (rice cakes) and canh măng khô (Bamboo with Pork).
This year, Tết falls between the 3rd and the 8th of February. What this means for Pixelz is that about 70% of our workforce will be away celebrating for some if not all of those days. Between the 3rd to the 17th of February, we will not be able to offer our standard delivery time. Outlined below are the deadlines that will be offered.
