Pixelz is a product image editing service. This means images you would typically see on a product description page (PDP). We edit different categories but focus on being the market leader within the retouching of fashion, home goods, furniture, and beauty.
Your photo can be a flat lay, pin-up, on-model, mannequin, include props or not, but common for all types of photography is that the more isolated your product is and the higher the quality of your photo, the better fit it is for Pixelz and the better a result we can deliver.
Pixelz may seem like magic, but we are still constrained by the quality of the input image. Your photo needs to be in high resolution and in focus. We can’t make a blurry image sharp or a small image large, and if too much of the product is blocked by another object we can’t recreate it. If you want a composite image, like an invisible mannequin, you need to supply the requisite components.
Pixelz isn’t built for editorial or lifestyle imagery, though we can sometimes succeed at retouching those. And we don’t edit real estate photos, portraits, or other photographs that aren’t of something you’re going to sell online.
What we do, and do exceptionally well, is e-commerce product image retouching.
Keep that frame of reference and we’ll be excellent long-term partners.
There are specific types of images that technically cannot be processed in our Production and as such, they will be rejected by Pixelz. In these cases, we will make sure to notify you in a timely manner. One of the below reasons will be mentioned in the email you will receive from Pixelz. Here you can find more explanations and examples of them.
|Reasons for Rejection||Explanation||Example|
|Corrupted Images||Part of the image is missing or cannot be opened in Photoshop.|
|Too small Images||The image dimensions are smaller than the required output.|
|Low-quality images||Low-quality, blurry, or out of focus images that cannot be processed.|
|Object covering parts of the product||An object is covering big parts of the product that cannot be recreated.|
|Part of the image set is missing||
Parts of the image set are missing (e.g. an insert or main image for invisible mannequin images).
|Incorrect File Type||The image(s) uploaded are using a file type that we are unable to process; Accepted file types are; PNG, JPG, TIF, and PSD. We are accepting some camera RAW files. For more information read this article What RAW image formats does Pixelz accept?.
There might also be some other cases, where your images will be rejected by Pixelz due to challenges our Production team is facing during the editing process. Below you may find more elaboration on those rare scenarios with some explanation and examples.
|Reasons for rejection||Explanation||Example|
Out of product scope
|Specific types of images such as personal photos, selfies, pets, company logos, banknotes, or abstract art images that will be rejected by Pixelz considering them as out of product scope (depending always on the specific editing requirements).|
|Images with high complexity that result in extremely high editing times. To maintain the image price at reasonable agreed levels and offer consistent quality, Pixelz might reject and return them to you.|
Product is unclear
|Images where it is very hard to distinguish between the main product, background, and props. For specific editing requirements, the processing of them might be quite challenging for our editors.|
Unprofessional setup, images shot on a complex background
|Images shot on a complex background or in an unprofessional setup with too many props or objects in the background making the editing process not possible or quite challenging.|
Multiple items in the same image
|Images that include multiple product items. As a rule of thumb, at Pixelz, we accept to edit one item per image. With few exceptions where it is literally impossible to separate the combined items or not appropriate for styling purposes, your images might be rejected to upload each item separately.|
Multiple customer rejections with no satisfactory output
|Complex images that Pixelz has tried to process multiple times but the output is still far away from the expected one. To avoid further rejections and dissatisfaction, Pixelz will reject and return those to you.|
If you have specific questions about your images, you are always welcome to contact our Customer Success team at email@example.com or reply directly to the email notification you have received from Pixelz.
